Why EAs Need to Show Up on LinkedIn

What to Post...Even If You Have No Idea What to Say!

So, you’re an Executive Assistant. You’ve got next-level organizational skills, a calendar that runs like a Swiss watch, and a strategic brain that can anticipate your executive’s needs before they even think of them. But when it comes to LinkedIn? You’re either ghosting the platform entirely or lurking in the shadows, liking the occasional post but never hitting publish yourself.

You’re also making yourself more visible to recruiters, executives, and fellow assistants who can open doors for your career.

And no, you don’t need to be a thought leader. You just need to be you. Let's get you started:

Start with what you know:

  • What’s one game-changing productivity tip that has saved your life at work?
  • How do you keep your Execs on track when they have a million competing priorities?
  • What’s one mistake you made early in your career—and what did you learn from it?

Share behind-the-scenes moments:

  • A day in your life as an EA (trust me, your fellow EAs want to know they are not alone in this role).
  • The best hack you’ve learned for managing emails, meetings, or travel.
  • A ‘win’ you had at work—big or small.

Commentary on industry trends:

  • AI and automation are changing the EA role—how are you adapting?
  • How do you see the Assistant profession evolving in the next five years?
  • Have you attended a great EA summit or training? Share your takeaways!

Engage with your network:

  • React to posts from other Assistants and leaders in your industry.
  • Share an article you found insightful, and add your thoughts.
  • Ask a question to spark discussion—people love giving advice.

We’ve pulled together a list of EAs, thought leaders, and industry influencers shaping our profession’s future. Whether you need a confidence boost, leadership inspiration, or just some solid, practical advice, these voices will help you navigate the ever-changing landscape of executive support.

Building your visibility on LinkedIn is essential for professionals, including assistants, in today’s fast-paced digital world. As assistants, we often juggle multiple responsibilities while trying to demonstrate our value within our organizations.

Canva

Canva is a game-changer for Executive Assistants looking to create eye-catching content with zero design experience. Whether it’s a polished carousel, a branded quote graphic, or a sleek industry insight post, Canva’s templates make it ridiculously easy. Just pick a template, customize it with your brand colors and fonts, and boom—professional-looking content in minutes. Bonus tip: Keep a few go-to templates saved so you can post consistently without overthinking. This makes posting on LinkedIn much easier.

Goal-Setting Challenge

This week, we’re stepping out of the shadows and making our voices heard on LinkedIn. Executive Assistants are strategic, problem-solving powerhouses—but if no one knows what you bring to the table, you’re missing an opportunity to build your brand and influence. Time to change that!

Challenge Steps:

🔹 Step 1: Choose Your Topic
Think about a work challenge you’ve overcome, a productivity hack you swear by, or an insight about the EA role that more people should understand. Keep it simple!

🔹 Step 2: Draft Your Post
Use a casual, authentic tone—no corporate jargon needed. Try this formula: Hook (grab attention), Story (share an experience), and Takeaway (what others can learn from it).

🔹 Step 3: Add a Visual (Optional)
Canva is your best friend here! Create a simple, branded image or carousel to make your post pop.

🔹 Step 4: Hit Post & Engage
Publishing is just the first step—comment on other EAs’ posts, reply to engagement on yours, and start building your LinkedIn presence.

Let’s make LinkedIn a space where Executive Assistants shine! Tag us so we can cheer you on.
